Because flooring materials are large, heavy, and often special-order items, our return and exchange policy is designed to balance customer satisfaction with the logistics of handling building materials.
Please review the policy below before placing your order.
Order Accuracy & Inspection
Customers are responsible for reviewing all order details before finalizing a purchase. This includes:
- Product name and style
- Color selection
- Quantity ordered
- Shipping address and contact information
Once your order is placed, it is processed quickly to reserve inventory and schedule shipment.
When your order arrives, inspect the material immediately before installation. If there are visible damages or shortages, please note them on the delivery receipt and contact FastFloors.com right away.
Return Eligibility
Due to the nature of flooring products, most orders are considered special order and are not eligible for return. However, some stock products may qualify for return under the following conditions:
- Return request submitted within 30 days of delivery
- Product must be unused, unopened, and in original packaging
- Cartons must be in resalable condition
- Customer must receive Return Authorization (RMA) from FastFloors.com before sending materials back
Any product returned without prior authorization may be refused. Because dye lots and manufacturing runs vary, returns cannot be accepted once cartons are opened.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Special order products (non-stocked products)
- Clearance or closeout items
- Custom-manufactured flooring
- Opened cartons
- Installed flooring
- Products that have been damaged after delivery
- Underlayment, adhesives, moldings, and accessories (unless defective)
Restocking Fees
Approved returns are subject to restocking and processing fees.
Typical restocking fees range from 20% to 40% of the product cost, depending on the manufacturer and product type.
Additional charges may include:
- Manufacturer restocking fees
- Warehouse handling fees
- Freight charges to return the product
Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return freight costs unless the return is due to a verified manufacturer defect or shipping error.
Because flooring materials ship via freight carriers on pallets, return shipping costs may be significant. We recommend contacting our team before requesting a return so we can help estimate freight costs.
All returned products must be:
- 4 boxes or more
- Properly palletized
- Securely wrapped
- In original cartons
Improperly packaged returns may be rejected by the warehouse.
Damaged or Defective Products
If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact FastFloors.com within 48 hours of delivery.
To process a damage or defect claim, we will request:
- Photos of the damaged product
- Photos of the packaging and pallet
- A copy of the delivery receipt noting damage
FastFloors.com will work with the manufacturer and shipping carrier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Depending on the situation, we may offer:
- Replacement material
- Credit for damaged goods
- Manufacturer warranty claim assistance
Exchanges
Exchanges may be available for eligible products that meet return conditions. The exchange process typically involves:
- Requesting a Return Authorization (RMA)
- Returning the original product (if approved)
- Placing a new order for the replacement product
Price differences between the returned product and the replacement product will be applied accordingly.
Cancellations
Non-special order items may be cancelled before shipment. However, cancellations may still be subject to manufacturer cancellation fees, processing fees and restocking fees.
Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled and will fall under the standard return policy.
Manufacturer Warranties
Most flooring products sold on FastFloors.com include manufacturer warranties covering defects in materials or workmanship.
Warranty coverage is determined by the manufacturer and does not cover:
- Improper installation
- Moisture or subfloor issues
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused after installation
Customers should always follow the manufacturer’s installation and maintenance guidelines to maintain warranty eligibility.
Installation Responsibility
FastFloors.com strongly recommends that installers inspect flooring materials before installation.
Industry standards require installers to confirm:
- Color consistency
- Style and pattern match
- Product condition
Installing defective material constitutes acceptance of the product and may void return eligibility.
