About the Product
Stepco imports high quality floors from around the world. They have representatives in many countries strictly for the purpose of quality control. While some flooring companies may cut corners to save money, Stepco will only bring you the finest quality flooring at very competitive prices. We give Stepco high marks and rank them as one of, if not the best buy on the market today.
Our Opinion
Stepco has done it again! This is a “hand-scraped” or “distressed” look from Stepco. This look has really become popular with consumers and many manufacturers are now producing a hand-scraped line. The biggest problem with most of them has been the price. While it is slightly more expensive to produce this look, there is not a huge difference. Some manufactures however have taken advantage of the popularity of this type of flooring and are charging too much. Stepco is not. As with most of their products, the introductory price is definitely below market value. We would not be the surprised at all if they raise the price very soon. For now, we’ll just make the best of this buying opportunity. As far as the product is concerned on a technical level, it ranks high. With a seven layer cross-ply construction, a thick wear layer and an aluminum oxide finish, we see this product giving you a long, durable life. While one of the benefits of the hand-scraped or distressed look is the overall appearance, another very unique benefit is the fact that you will not notice dents, scratches, etc., as you much as with a flat surface wood floor. Considering part of the look is the dents, dings, etc., it lends to the character of the floor. All in all this is a very durable, great looking wood floor at price that can’t be beat.
