About the Product

The Mohawk Natural Stone series features some of Mohawk’s signature features. This is a laminate floor that looks and feels like a ceramic or stone floor. Let’s go from top to bottom and explain this product in detail. First, Mohawk uses their CrystalShield, a layer of aluminum-oxide which provides outstanding protection against wear and stains. Then there is the design layer which is melamine resin-impregnated type. With these products they also use a Registered Embossed Texture which provides a true to life feel of natural stone or ceramic tile. The next big feature of this product is the WaterGuard6 extra thick highly moisture resistant core. This specially designed core allows for no more than 6% water absorption. This low absorption helps prevent the product from swelling if moisture is present. Also, the MoistureBlock bottom layer helps prevent moisture from ever getting to the core, as well as adding even more stability to the product. The Natural Stone series utilizes Mohawk’s DuraLoc glue less installation method. This is a simple tap in place system that has proven to be one of the best we’ve seen. Very easy and very durable. The edges are sealed to help prevent moisture from penetrating the seams.

The Mohawk Natural Stone series is a very realistic looking floor. They use a 3D Excel printing technology which enhances the texture dimensions. The grout joints are also color coordinated. If you are looking for a natural stone or ceramic tile look without the hassles, this is an excellent choice. The boards are large (46-3/8” L x 16” W) which make for a fairly easy installation. As we have said in the past about other Mohawk products, you can buy with confidence knowing that Mohawk stands behind the purchase.
