Zen Click LockStepco’s Zen Click Lock Bamboo Flooring is a strand-woven bamboo with a unique click installation method. The combination of these two features makes this flooring extremely durable yet easy to install.

What is strand woven bamboo? First it’s important to know what bamboo is. Although the general public may consider it a hardwood, in actuality it is a grass, thus it’s highly fibrous. A typical manufacturing method involves laminating these fibers on top of each other. But strand woven bamboo is manufactured differently. With strand woven bamboo, the fibers are weaved together, forming a ridiculously strong material (that scores more than 3000 on the Janka hardness scale). In fact, it’s more than twice as hard than traditional oak flooring.

Why is this so important? Your floor will take a beating from a number of sources. You might just think that high-traffic areas require hard floors, but consider all that your floor encounters on any given day:

  • Pets
  • Kids
  • High heels
  • Furniture

The hardness of your floor will determine how well it handles this kind of abuse day in and day out. With a phenomenal Janka scoring, strand woven bamboo is known as one of the hardest floors in the planet.

The eco-friendly choice in flooring

Like we mentioned earlier, bamboo isn’t a hardwood. It’s actually a grass. As a result, it regenerates every 3 – 5 years, making it a great renewable resource. Some studies suggest that the careful harvesting of bamboo stimulates and nurtures smaller shoots because more sunlight is allowed to reach these younger plants.

But there are more reasons why your Zen Click Lock bamboo flooring is eco-friendly. It doesn’t require harsh chemicals for cleaning, and, if installed properly, can last for 30 years, or even longer. As a result, Stepco’s bamboo flooring helps you consume less resources and spend less money.

The Zen Click Lock flooring also meets E-O and CARB Phase 1 & 2 standards for indoor air quality, meaning it’s not just good for the environment. It’s the healthy choice in flooring for you, your family, and your pets.

The easy locking method

Few things can be more stressful than installing flooring, particularly when you realize that the installation process will dictate the performance and lifespan of your flooring. But with Stepco’s Zen Click Lock bamboo, installation is quite literally a snap.

The Zen Click Lock line features self-locking edges that hold the floor together, meaning fewer tools and headaches when it’s time to install your new floor.

The many shades of bamboo

Bamboo flooring isn’t tied down to one color. There are, in fact, two broad categories of coloring – naturalized and carbonized. Naturalized bamboo will look as close to the actual plant as possible, while carbonized bamboo flooring color will vary greatly. It all depends on the boiling process involved. The longer the bamboo is boiled, the darker the color will become. The Zen Click Lock line comes in a variety of colors, including Driftwood Brushed/Distressed, Honey, Mocha, Novo, Pecan, Roasted Brushed/Distressed, and Tiger. Each plank measures 34.25 inches (920 mm) in length, and 5 inches (127 mm) in width, and requires no gluing during installation.

It’s ideal for either residential or commercial uses, and with the wide range of colors available, will fit within most existing decors. Zen Click Lock is an engineered floor, meaning it’s made of cross-laminated layers of material, which offer maximum stability.  Combined with the superb reputation for hardness that’s associated with strand-woven bamboo, and it’s no wonder why Stepco’s Zen Click Lock line is known for being able to handle anything it faces.
