Zen Classics Bamboo Flooring by Stepco

Zen Classics Bamboo FlooringBamboo flooring instantly comes with a large amount of credibility. This remarkable plant is both durable and eco-friendly. It scores more than 3,000 on the Janka rating scale, making it far more durable than traditional hardwoods. And rather than require decades to reach the age of harvesting, bamboo needs just 5 to 6 years. There’s no question that bamboo is a renewable resource.

But these attributes alone aren’t what have helped bamboo become one of the most popular styles of flooring today. What has boosted bamboo’s popularity is what’ s evident in Stepco’s Zen Classics line.

Bamboo alone possesses a touch of timelessness to it, an appearance sought after by many. However, with the Zen Classics line, Stepco has melded that timelessness with a touch of urban flair, within six various shades.

The traditional shades are Blonde and Carbonized, and are offered in either vertical or horizontal patterns. But in addition to these traditional styles, Stepco also introduces four other shadings sure to give you the touch of individuality you strive for. Pecan has a light yet spicy tone, whereas Cognac is a touch deeper. Hickory combines golden tans with browns for an urban rugged look, while ebony, as its name suggests, is the darkest of the options.

Not just bamboo flooring – 100% bamboo flooring

Stepco’s Zen Classic Line is made with 100% bamboo, from top to bottom, including base layer, core layer, and wear layer. Why is this so important? Because bamboo is one of the most durable substances on the planet. By creating a floor completely made of bamboo, Stepco is offering one of the most reliable products on the market.

Furthermore, the bamboo Stepco chooses for its flooring is 100% FSC certified. This means that you can rest assured that your flooring was manufactured under strict guidelines that ensure the well being of our planet’s forests.

The environmentally sound choice – bamboo flooring

The type of bamboo Stepco uses for its Zen Classics flooring is Moso, one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. An oak tree may take up to 80 years to reach maturity. A beech tree may take 40. But Moso bamboo reaches maturity in no more than 6 years, and grows to heights of 65 feet (20 meters). Another interesting fact about bamboo is that one plant contains several poles. New shoots will grow from this one mother plant every year, since the plant will not die after harvesting. In fact, harvesting can help encourage growth, because sunlight can better reach the younger plants.
